Abstract

Rhodium is selectively extracted into the metallic phase when liquid tin or bismuth is contacted with molten (NaK)CN solutions containing a mixture of rhodium and iridium. The role of the melt redox potential during extractions and the effects of dicyanamide and carbonate concentrations are discussed. Good rhodium yields and high separation factors are obtained at optimum redox potentials.
