Abstract
Abstract A method is developed for the extraction and separation of osmium from palladium, platinum, ruthenium, rhodium, and iridium with tri-n-octyl amine either from hydrochloric or hydrobromic acid solutions. The extracted species is (R3NH+)2OsCl6 2-. The method is shown to be applicable to synthetic mixtures.
