Abstract

Ferrocenylethanol enantiomers can be separated by microcolumn liquid chromatography with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) as a mobile phase additive. The effects of the mobile phase composition on the retention behaviour of the analytes were examined. The separation factor achieved under various mobile phase conditions was 1.1–1.2, and association constants of the analytes with β-CD were determined from the experimental results. Addition of α- and γ-CD to the mobile phase did not result in separation of the enantiomers.
