Abstract

A TLC technique convenient for forensic analysis is described for the separation and identification of the extracts of the plant flowering tops and the resin of cannabis as well as from the residues of smoking pipes. Alumina plates developed by a benzene-chloroform solvent system give a good separation. U.V. light (254 nm) and Fast Blue-B chromogenic reagent are used for location of spots. Rf values and colours of the spots of the separated components are recorded.
