Abstract
Contracts of the performance of surveying works (provision of services) are concluded by subsoil users in the process of mining. The contract under study is a civil law nature, despite the fact that the results of contract work and services rendered are used in the public sphere. The quality of surveying work performance affects the safety of mining operations and the financial result of the subsoil user-customer.
 Based on the analysis of the practice of concluding contracts and their content, the author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to fix the requirements for technical conditions and regulations for the performance of surveying works (services) by the contractor (performer) as essential terms of the contract. The article is not only of scientific interest, but also has practical significance for the participants in contractual and claim work.
