Abstract

In this article, an upper bound is obtained, by means of the union bound (UB), for the symbol error probability (SEP) of the M-ary $\theta-$quadrature amplitude modulation ($\theta-$QAM) scheme, in channels subject to additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and Nakagami-q fading. In addition, an exact and closed-form expression for the pairwise error probability (PEP) of the system is derived. Curves of SEP are presented, under different parameters that characterize the channel.
