Abstract
In a decision on April 22, 2021 the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the Eighth Amendment permits juvenile offenders convicted of homicide to be sentenced to life without parole as long as “the sentence is not mandatory and the sentencer therefore has discretion to impose a lesser punishment.”
