Abstract

Background and objective: Previous studies on sensory-motor integration (SMI) between somatosensory afferents and the motor responses to transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) have been performed with electrical stimulation of the nerves, revealing early (20–/INS;30ms) and late (after 100ms) afferent inhibitions with an intervening facilitation. This study was planned to investigate the effects of selective electrical stimulation of intraepidermal Aδ fibers (IES) on SMI.
