Abstract

Three children who manifested extreme with drawal from human contact (autistic defenses) were placed in a rigidly sensory deprived hospital environment. A brief literature review, an exposition of theoretical considerations, the children's histories, their course in the hospital, and short-term follow-ups are detailed.
