Abstract

This paper presents the simulation for sensorless operation of BLDC motor drive with speed control, designed for Air conditioners. As the motor starts to rotate back EMF is obtained from the motor terminals using a voltage divider along with a low pass filter. Control pulses for inverter are generated based on the zero crossing of back EMF. The results have been validated in Matlab Simulink platform.
