Abstract

Aiming at the high-frequency chattering of traditional sliding mode observer (SMO), a class of concave control function is proposed in this paper by taking the power function as an example. And it is proved theoretically that the back electromotive force (back-EMF) chattering observed by the concave control function is smaller than the convex function. Secondly, a SMO based on concave control function is designed to estimate the back-EMF of the brushless DC motor (BLDCM), and the phase-locked loop is used to extract the rotation speed and angle information. Finally, the proposed method is verified by experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed sliding mode observer can accurately observe the back electromotive force and weaken chattering, meanwhile, the control system has good on-load capability.
