Abstract

This paper describes a new position estimation strategy of 3-phase Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM). The traditional simplified flux-linkage sensorless methods only realize single phase alternate conducting, and the output power efficiency of the motor is low. This paper proposes a new improved simplified flux linkage sensorless method of SRM based on the characteristic position flux. Due to the analysis of the phase inductance and the rotor position, the characteristic position is the intersection of the phase inductance curve. The position signal is estimated by comparing the real-time flux linkage with the characteristic position flux linkage. This paper uses an improved method based on the exponential flux model, the algorithm is simple and easy to be implemented, and only occupy a small percentage of computer memory, which means low request for the processor. For both low and high speed applications, the method is practical. Simulations and experimental results verify the correctness and feasibility of the proposed method.
