Abstract

The design of a device for providing azimuthal single-axis tracking of the Sun is described. The experimental testing of the device, when used in conjunction with a low concentration ratio parabolic-trough collector, is reported. The device developed allows such collectors to exploit more fully their potential for collecting significant amounts of diffuse insolation.
