Abstract

The DC current flow controller (CFC) can achieve the optimal distribution of DC power flows and improve the control degree of freedom of DC grids. In order to make full use of the DC CFC’s power flow regulation capability, the optimal installation location of the DC CFC needs to be selected in the DC grid. The concept of Sensitivity analysis is proposed to describe the branch currents response to the equivalent ideal transformer introduced by DC CFC in each controlled branch. On this basis, the location Index of the DC CFC is proposed. It improves the economic features of the location of the DC CFC. Finally, a DC grid based on improved Zhoushan 5-terminal DC project is used to validate the rationality and effectiveness of the sensitivity analysis method.
