Abstract

In this investigation, a shape sensitivity analysis is performed for a dynamically loaded nonlocal thermoelastic solid body. Considering a general integral functional of system's response in a finite interval of time, the total variation of the functional with respect to shape variations is obtained through the adjoint variable method and the material derivative concept of structural optimization. Sensitivity expressions are derived in terms of primary and adjoint functions, and the so-called deformation velocity field of shape variations.
