Abstract

The optical properties of polyvinyl chloride have been investigated by the terahertz time-domain spectroscopy technology to highlight their application. Optical parameters such as absorption coefficient, phase difference and refractive index have presented different characterizations among different particle sizes, types and proportion blends. The adsorption properties of polyvinyl chloride on methyl orange were studied and characterized by terahertz spectroscopy at different times. These results provide a database for the efficient utilization and performance improvement of polyvinyl chloride and its blends in terahertz technology, which are of great significance for the non-destructive testing of plastic products in industrial production and the adsorption analysis of microplastics in the environment.
