Abstract

Background • Measuring clinician knowledge and implementation of guidelines is challenging due to potential social desirability bias and the Hawthorne effect. • In July 2014, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) published a new Evidence Based Nutrition Practice Guideline (EBNPG) for the Prevention of Diabetes; referred to hereafter as “the guideline”. • This offered the opportunity to 1) compare self-reported to actual knowledge and 2) track changes after guideline release.
