Abstract

The development and preliminary evaluation of a mobile geriatric outreach team are described in this program case example. The importance of thorough, interdisciplinary assessment and the offering of active, brief psychotherapy are essential elements of this program. Community education programs and consultations to the aging network reach the senior community and other referral sources. Preliminary program evaluation data are presented. Concluding remarks stress the importance of strong commitment to client independence, combating staff burnout, and generating income.
