Abstract

This dissertation sets out to demonstrate on the basis of texts from the exegesis of Saint Augustine, how he affirms the corporeal aspect of the Church. This attempt has been made against the assertion of the scholars who hold that in the Enarrationes in Psalmos of Saint Augustine, the body of Christ is so spiritualised that there is nothing corporeal about it. They accused the Bishop of Hippo of platonic idealisation as regards his ecclesiology. Such views are proved wrong be the texts of Saint Augustin
