Abstract

From triton calculations using various number of channels for various two-nucleon potentials with or without a three-nucleon potential, we conclude that the calculated values of low energy physical quantities are simply correlated to the calculated binding energy without regard to the potential or to the number of channels. We found the following two different kind of difficulties: (1) With the Tucson-Melbourne three-nucleon potential with the cut off mass of 700 MeV, we get the correct binding energy, whereas higher momentum components are needed to reproduce the (e, e′) inclusive scattering. (2) Except for the Bonn potential, all two nucleon potentials need the three-body force effect of about 10%, while the Bonn potential does not. We need to know which kind of potential is better.
