Abstract

Educational activity of every medical journal is manifested throughout the entirety of its content. However, there is a need for new forms of educational content, in order to present facts that are important for the everyday work of physicians as well as other current or impending circumstances (changing patterns of diseases, technological and IT progress, expansion of mass-media). Therefore, Medical Journal, in cooperation with the Regional Medical Chamber for Central and Western Serbia, is introducing a new section titled Seminar for Practicing Physicians. Attention will be focused mainly on work in primary, ambulatory health care in resolving dilemmas that occur in everyday practice as well as on the content which contributes to the harmonization of the different levels and segments of the health care service. Thematic areas that will be the subject of this column are adapted to the current needs of physicians in the practice and an additional selection of these priorities has been made. The initiative also includes the other three national journals, Serbian Journal of Experimental and Clinical Research, Rational Therapy and PONS Medical Journal. Medical Journal is also interested in research papers related to the field of medical education as well as the feedback of readers and prospective authors of the seminars regarding this new activity.
