Abstract

Photorefractive double phase conjugation has been an interesting subject in recent years [1] [2] [3]. The interaction process can self-generate a pair of phase conjugate replicas from two mutually incoherent beams without spatial and temporal modulation cross talks [1] [4]. This unique characteristic has drawn a great interest in many potential applications such as optical communication, information processing, laser beam steering and phase-locking etc. In this work we introduce another configuration of double phase conjugation: Semilinear Double Phase Conjugate Mirror (SDPCM). Experimental studies show that this configuration has high phase conjugate reflectivity, wide acceptence angle, good phase conjugate fidelity and resonably fast response time. Over 250% phase conjugate reflectivity is obtained in this single-crystal passive phase conjugation device.
