Abstract

We calculate recoil effects for strangeness-changing semileptonic decays of baryons by means of boosted quark mode solutions of the MIT bag model. We consider both the quark and pseudoscalar part of the axial current. We show that the induced scalar form factorf3. and the “weak electric” form factorg2 are proportional to the mass difference of the final and initial baryon. Moreover, we show that the quark wave function mismatch, which decreases the conventional vector form factorf1, and increases the axial form factorg1, can be compensated by recoil effects and static pseudoscalar field effects respectively. Thus a better agreement with experiment seems to be achieved.
