Abstract

Decays $D\to\pi^+\pi^-e^+\nu_e$ and $D_s\to\pi^+ \pi^-e^+\nu_e$ serve as probes that check the existence of constituent $q\bar q$ components in the wave functions of scalar mesons decaying into $\pi^+\pi^-$. There exists a great deal of concrete evidence in favor of the exotic four-quark nature of light scalars. At the same time, the further expansion of the area of the $q^2\bar q^2$ model validity for light scalars on ever new processes seems extremely interesting and important. We analyze the BESIII and CLEO data on the decays $D^+\to \pi^+\pi^- e^+\nu_e$ and $D^+_s\to \pi^+\pi^- e^+\nu_e$ and show that the results of these experiments together can be interpreted in favor of the four-quark nature of light scalar mesons $\sigma(500)$ and $f_0(980)$. Our approach can also be applied to the description of other similar decays involving light scalars.

Summary

INTRODUCTION

In the works [1,2], a program was proposed for studying the σð500Þ, f0ð980Þ, and a0ð980Þ resonances in semileptonic decays of D and B mesons These decays provide direct probe of constituent two-quark components in the wave functions of light scalars [1,2]. For the decays of Dþs , D0, and Dþ mesons we have: Dþs → sseþνe → 1⁄2σð500Þ þ f0ð980ފeþνe → πþπ−eþνe, D0 → dueþνe → a−0 ð980Þeþνe → π−ηeþνe, Dþ → ddeþνe → a00ð980Þeþνe → π0ηeþνe, and Dþ → ddeþνe → 1⁄2σð500Þ þ f0ð980ފeþνe → πþπ−eþνe The development of this program [1,2,3,4] resulted in evidences in favor of the exotic nature of light scalar mesons. We write the differential width for the Dþ and Dþs decays into πþπ−eþνe in the form d2ΓDþcq →ðSd→pπþffisffiπd−qÞe2þνe ðs; q2Þ
