Abstract

AbstractThe main objective in this chapter is to study the quantum dynamical semigroups. Quantum dynamical semigroup is a semigroup of completely positive maps on some nice algebras of operators satisfying certain continuity conditions. These semigroups appear naturally in the study of the evolution of an irreversible open quantum system. In the classical theory of probability, these semigroups are noncommutative analogue to the Markov semigroups. The generator of a uniformly continuous semigroup is a bounded map. At the end, I have cited various monographs which are in the direction to study the generator of strongly continuous quantum dynamical semigroups.
