Abstract

We have studied the fusion parameters such as barrier height (VB), position (RB) and curvature of the inverted parabola for fusion barrier of the low-Z element (1 ≤ Z ≤ 20). The considered atomic number and mass number range for projectile are 1 ≤ ZP ≤ 20 and 1 ≤ AP ≤ 50, respectively. We have studied 2140 fusion reactions of compound nuclei with atomic number range 1 ≤ Z ≤ 20. Based on this study, we have formulated the semiempirical formulae for barrier heights (VB), positions (RB) and inverted parabola. Our parameterized formulae can reproduce the exact fusion barrier heights and positions within an accuracy of ± 2%.
