Abstract

In this paper, the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is implemented to simulate and analysis the semi-deterministic wireless channel. Over the years, the FDTD method has been widely used for solving various electromagnetic problems. However, the FDTD method is deficient in showing the randomness of the wireless channel. Furthermore, channel measurement usually costs lots of human and financial resource, people prefer to simulating the channel rather than measurement on site. As a result, we would like to introduce some random variables and establish a semi-deterministic channel model based on the FDTD simulation. Thus, in this paper, channel characteristic extraction method based on the FDTD method is described. The Monte Carlo method is used to imitate the randomness in wireless channel. Then, a 2D outdoor wireless channel simulated by the FDTD method is presented. The numerical results show the feasibility and validity of the proposed method.
