Abstract

A simple analytical formula for evaluating the intensity of high-frequency emission from an atom is obtained proceeding from the classical notions about the motion of an electron in the field of the atomic core and an external laser radiation field. Calculations using this formula are performed for a hydrogen atom that occurs initially in the ground state and is exposed to the action of ultrashort radiation pulses involving various numbers of field oscillations.
