Abstract

Distorted-wave calculations of the triple differential cross sections for electron-impact ionization of atomic hydrogen are presented for the energy sharing geometry in cases of low impact energies. Our aim consists in a semiclassical description of post-collision interaction effects between the two continuum electrons. Our theoretical approach incorporates final-state electron - electron interactions by the use of classically derived distorting potentials for the calculation of quantum mechanical wavefunctions. The results are compared with experimental data of Brauner et al and Röder et al and with those of other theoretical models.
