Abstract

This paper describes a collection of software programs interfacing a hardware sleep rapid eye movement (REM) automatic detection system with a general purpose digital minicomputer ( PDP- 8 e ) for the collection and further quantitative processing of sleep REM times of occurrence. The software to be described is divided into four categories: (a) acquisition of REM times, (b) REM burst detection and analysis, (c) density measurements, and (d) connectivity measurements.
