Abstract
ABSTRACT Cyst morphology of the 13 species of Branchinecta thus far recorded in North America is described by means of scanning electron microscopy. Differences in morphology are emphasized to determine whether egg ornamentation could be an easy and useful means to distinguish species even in the absence of water. The eggs of Branchinecta are compared with data from previous studies on other anostracan genera.
