Abstract

The ultrashort, high-power microwave pulses are of interest to a number of applications, for example, for the nanosecond high-resolution radar [1]. It is known that propagation of microwave pulses along rectilinear electron beams is accompanied by increase in the peak power and simultaneous decrease in the effective pulse duration. From the analysis presented in several papers (see e.g. [2], [3]) it follows that these processes exhibit the property of self-similarity.
