Abstract

In the post-pandemic era, small private online course (SPOC) as one integrated teaching mode in blended learning has attracted more attention in the higher education. Although a growing number of online education platforms, even SPOC platforms, have been constructed, such as Chinese University MOOC, NetEase Cloud Classroom, Xuetang Online, Icourse, how to adopt these online platforms selectively and effectively in the SPOC is still worthwhile to explore. This study introduces the self-regulatory learning models and their intervention and effectiveness in the online learning. Then it analyses features of SPOC in terms of students, teachers and syllabus to illustrate the significance of include the learners’ self-regulated learning in SPOC and how to make use of technology facilities from different online education platform. Therefore, the SPOC self-regulated learning model can be proposed to provide optimal support for blended learning and improve effectiveness and efficiency of SPOC learning based on online education platform.
