Abstract
Many considered Walter Cronkite the most trusted man in America during his tenure as evening news anchor. When he died, former colleagues spoke of his strength and comforting presence. They eulogized him saying, “What you saw was what he was.” For us, too, the more transparent we become, the more trusted we may be. In fact, who we are may matter more than what we do (e.g. Kornfield, 2009). To be seen as who we are involves knowing who we are. Identifying our core beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world around us that govern our thoughts and actions leads to recognition of our genuine self.
