Abstract
Multi-color displays enabled with self-powering capability possess unique superiority in information communications for the internet of things (IoT). Here, we present a novel self-powered self-healing multi-color display by integrating the intrinsically stretchable multi-color alternating current electroluminescent (ACEL) devices with the triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs). By introducing the reversible dynamic imine bonds, PDMS is empowered with superb stretchability (2500%) and high self-healing efficiency (96%) under room temperature. With such stretchable and self-healing PDMS (SSH-PDMS) as the substrate of electrodes and the matrix of emission layers, intrinsically stretchable and self-healing ACEL (SSH-ACEL) devices are fabricated. The self-powered multi-color ACEL display is demonstrated by assembling the modules of SHH-ACEL devices with typical contact-separation mode TENGs. This work may provide a widely adaptable platform for self-powered communication in IoT.
