Abstract

Self-powered active vibration control, which realizes active vibration control using regenerated vibration energy, has been proposed. The self-powered active vibration control is applied to the anti-rolling system for ships. The motor in the anti-rolling system is required to act as a generator and an actuator, since the anti-rolling system is composed of one motor. The new control scheme that realizes the self-powered active control with a single motor is proposed. Through experiments with scale model ship on the seakeeping model basin which can make any waves, the performance of the proposed system is examined. The results indicate that the proposed system can be achieved.
