Abstract

Tree structures are typical forms of networks. We propose some simulation models for the formation of tree structures and report the results of numerical simulations. Tree structure is one of the simplest forms of networks. The tree network is constructed of many elements and has a hierarchical structure from top to bottom. Each element is connected to several elements in the lower level and the element is connected to only one element in the upper level. There are no loops of connections and therefore the tree structure is expected to be an efficient network to transmit information. A hierarchical structure of a bureaucracy or an army is an example of the tree structures. The tree structure is also one of the typical data structures in computer programmings. We often classify and memorize many pieces of informa tion in a tree of categories. In a previous paper we proposed a hierarchical neural network to detect such information. l
