Abstract

Single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) were synthesized in the gas phase by hot filament thermal chemical vapor deposition with radio‐frequency plasma. The process of formation of carbon fine particles including SWNTs was monitored by the variation of RF self‐bias voltage. Synthesized carbon fine particles showed a higher hydrogen storage capacity and a smaller specific surface area than commercialized SWNTs, CoMoCAT.
