Abstract

This paper deals with the application of a self-tuning controller (STC) to a pulsed liquid-liquid extraction column. The control purpose is to maintain the column in its optimal behaviour zone in spite of flow and physical properties of solvent and solute fluctuations. The process model is re-parameterized to express it in terms of the controller parameters, which are identified on line.
