Abstract

Abstract In this letter, we report on oxoborate (Bi3B5O12) powders synthesized by a self-propagating high-temperature method for the first time. The X-ray diffraction patterns indicated a partial orientation in the (200) plane promotes an improvement in optical properties related to photoluminescence (PL) intensity at room temperature and broad green PL emissions were tested with the excited wavelength at 250 nm, which offers much more possibilities as a sensitizer with bismuth phosphors for energy-saving lamps.
