Abstract

Self-focusing of laser beam in weakly relativistic-ponderomotive thermal quantum plasma(TQP) is discussed. Elliptical cross-section is associated with given beam. The parabolic equation approach is used for obtaining nonlinear differential equations for spot sizes of laser beam with the help of WKB & paraxial approximations. Numerical simulations are carried out for these differential equations by using RK-4 method. The behavior of beam widths against propagation distance is explored with the help of selective laser and plasma parameters. Further, results of present problem are compared with ordinary quantum plasma cases and simple relativistic plasma.
