Abstract

Self-diffraction in a resonant liquid crystal medium has been investigated by the dynamic holographic technique. The light-induced anisotropy of refractive index has been determined and compared with the value of thermal nonlinearity. The multi-regime relaxation of the holographic grating has also been investigated. Doping with ketocyanine molecules has been shown to cause deformation of the chiral liquid crystal structure.
