Abstract

The paper shows (a) that DUP redistribution of capital assets in large, open economies may make the terms-of-trade worsen so much that the redistribution becomes immiserizing for the group undertaking it, but also (b) that such activities may improve the terms-of-trade enough to improve the potential welfare of the entire society.
