Abstract
The benefits of quick setting cold-curing resins, either alone or in combination with wax, for the construction of patterns have been discussed. Resin patterns should be constructed in the following situations: (1) when difficulties with regard to parallelism exist in the preparation, (2) when undercuts are present on the preparation or on the die, (3) when a try-in of the pattern on the tooth is desirable or necessary, and (4) when danger of deforming or marring the inlay wax is apparent because of the small size, or the shape of the pattern.
