Abstract

Chern-Simons term renormalization in a topologically massive electrodynamics is studied at a finite density of particles. It follows from a self-consistent calculation that the renormalized coefficient of the Chern-Simons term is only two times smaller than the bare one and does not vanish identically. It is shown that a statistical transmutation has a two-stage character in a finite density system.
