Abstract

A simple approach to the construction of the phase equivalent local optical potential from phaseshifts for a given energy is proposed. The local potential is expanded in a set of given functions and the expansion coefficients are determined in a self-consistent way. In each step one has to solve a number of radial equations with a local potential as well as the set of algebraic equations. The method is first tested on simple examples and then applied to the construction of the local potential equivalent to the second-order non-local optical potential for positron-hydrogen-atom scattering.
