Abstract

126 wives and 72 husbands were interviewed to test the self-concept of wife as seen by both marriage partners and to try to determine if this view is linked to effectiveness of birth control and The indices used to gather data were self-conception family interactionspowerlessness and success or failure in planning. as measured by questionnaire-interview and reactions to sets of pictures showing women in various roles. A significant relationship between the wifes seeing herself as community oriented and having many husband-wife and extra-family interactions and her effectiveness in planning was shown.
