Abstract

The broadening of H2S transitions in the ν2 band was measured with H2S, air, and helium as perturbers using a pulsed tunable diode laser spectrometer. Up to 20 lines (for self-broadening) with J″ ≤ 8 and K″a ≤ 5 have been studied at room temperature. The self- and air-broadening coefficients show a weak decrease with increasing J″(0.121 cm−1/atm ≤ γself ≤ 0. 186 cm−1/atm and 0.072 cm−1/atm ≤ γair ≤ 0.116 cm−1/atm, respectively). Helium broadening was measured for the first time, showing a strong J″ dependence of γ (0.042 cm−1/atm ≤ γHe ≤ 0.099 cm−1/atm).
