Abstract
A kind of Selenide Molybdenum (MoSe2)-nanosheet based saturable absorber (SA) was synthesized by liquid-phase exfoliation (LPE) method. By employing the as-prepared MoSe2SA and output coupling rate of 6.5%, laser pulses with the shortest duration of 394 ns and maximum average output power of 128 mW were delivered from the passively Q-switched Nd:LuAG laser, corresponding to a single pulse energy of 0.35 μJ and peak power of 0.89 W. With a T = 15% OC, the passively Q-switched Nd:LuAG laser generated the shortest duration of 420 ns, maximum repetition rate of 327 kHz and average output power of 135 mW, corresponding to a single pulse energy of 0.41 μJ and peak power of 0.98 W. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first experimental demonstration of MoSe2as SA for Nd-doped crystalline laser, which well reveals the promising potential of MoSe2as SA for Nd-doped solid-state lasers.
