Abstract

Angiography enables the radiologist to complement the gastroenterologist and surgeon in the diagnosis and therapy of gastrointestinal hemorrhage. The combination of endoscopy and angiography makes it possible to quickly and accurately localize bleeding, to convert many emergency situations to elective procedures, and occasionally, to provide therapy via relatively noninvasive procedures.
